Podcasts live in The Listen, under Incoming. Play one and the app remembers where you were, on every device. ▶ Continue in the sidebar opens the Listen room on whatever you were last hearing.

Subscribing

Open Podcasts from The Listen. Search the open podcast index by name, or browse the genre shelf. Tap a cover and you are subscribed: into your feed server if you have one, so every device sees it, or into Local Feeds if you do not.

Playing

Tap an episode. A Now Playing bar follows you across the app; fold it to a single speaker button when you want your screen back, and it reopens on its own when something new starts. The bar has ★ and a note button, so you can star an episode or write a note that remembers the episode and the exact moment.

• Chapters — episodes that carry chapter marks, or timestamps in their description, get a chapter list.
• Queue — play a list and the next episode starts when one ends. The bar shows how many are up next.
• Sleep timer — one chip cycling Off → 15 min → 30 min → 45 min → end of episode. “End of episode” finishes the current one and stops, even if the queue has more.
• AirPlay — the system route button, so any speaker or TV in the list carries the audio and the controls.
• The lock screen and headphone buttons work as they do for any player.

Downloads

Audio episodes download ahead of time so they play on the subway. Video does not, unless you switch it on, because a feed of talks can quietly fill a device. Settings › Feeds › Downloads sets how many to keep per surface (eight by default), a total size cap (2 GB by default) and the oldest are removed first; nothing kept longer than 60 days. Downloads carry on after you leave the app.

Continue across devices

Where you are in an episode is written to a small side file at the root of your sync hub, shared by the Apple and Android apps. During playback the position is saved to the device every fifteen seconds; it is sent to the hub when you pause, stop or finish — the moments when another device might realistically be the next to press play. Press play on the other device and it picks up from there. An episode is marked heard once you cross its end, and nothing earlier un-hears it.

Read-aloud, voice memos and audiobook files are not tracked this way for now; only episodes with a feed identity are.

On the Watch

The Listen page on the wrist lists the episodes downloaded on the phone. Tap a cloud row to pull it over, then tap to play from the watch itself.

The Log

Everything you have listened to is in Log, grouped as Read · Watched · Listened. Tap to reopen; the flask button runs a prompt over the episode’s text, if you have an AI key.
