Get the app. Be a tester.
Ledgable is free software for iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch, Android phones and e-ink tablets: a notebook that keeps what you put in it, a reader for your feeds, mail, books and comics, and a door to a website you own. It is in beta, and testers are who it is built with. Install it, use it for a week, tell us what broke.
What you are installing

- Capture handwriting, voice, video and pictures, and annotate everything with them.
- One unified inbox. Every mail account, every feed, newsletters, YouTube, podcasts and Bluesky in one room with one search.
- RSS feeds without the ads. Every article as its readable copy: text and pictures, no pop-ups, no trackers, no algorithm, nothing sponsored. Plus newsletters, YouTube channels, podcasts, books and comics.
- Scroll with the volume buttons, or turn the page. Finally, a Kindle for everything: books, comics, web, articles, mail. On e-ink and Android the rocker pages every screen; on iPhone and iPad, tap or swipe.
- Star, pick, write. A walk from Today through All Stars and All Picks to the day’s note turns reading into writing.
- Sync between Android and Apple devices through Google Drive or any WebDAV server you own. Plain files either way.
- Publish a handwritten page to your own WordPress, to Bluesky, or to the Ledgable community.
The whole tour is on the front page; every room is explained in the knowledge base.
Install it
iPhone · iPad · Apple Watch
Ledgable 1.0 is in App Review. Until it clears, install the same build through TestFlight: tap the link on your iPhone or iPad, install Apple’s TestFlight app if asked, and accept. The Watch app rides inside the iOS app.
When the App Store listing goes live, the link lands here and in Announcements.
Android & e-ink
The Android build is sideloaded today: download the APK on the tablet, open it, allow the install. Boox, Bigme and Viwoods panels each get their own fast-ink path.
Ledgable for Android (APK, ~110 MB) →
Coming to Google Play: join the tester group to install the test build from the store instead.
Setup for each device is in the knowledge base: iPhone, iPad and Watch · Boox, Bigme and other e-ink tablets.
Being a tester
- Use it for real. A week of actual days, actual feeds, actual mail tells us more than an afternoon of poking.
- Say what broke, where. Support turns a bug into a ticket that reaches the person who wrote the code; the checklist there asks for your device, the build number under Settings › About, and what you did.
- Say what you wished for. Ideas go in the community’s Ideas & requests room, one idea per post, so the ones people want rise.
- Connect the community to the app. ledgable.cc/pair gives you the app password; then your handwritten pages can go straight to Show your pages.
- Updates. TestFlight updates itself. On Android, come back here for a new APK; the build number is on this page’s Announcements post when one ships.
Run your own site: the WordPress plugin
Ledgable for WordPress turns your own site into the ledger’s home: a private post type for dated entries, the pages that make them browsable, a REST surface the apps write to, and the open-network layer — feeds, webmentions, a directory — that lets ledgers find each other without a platform in the middle.
Verify SHA-256 of the zip: 62c8495ad13788d38496971f25d6ccfd9887b24e3c867a75faeb99c0c23baa4b. Needs WordPress 6.4 and PHP 7.4. Upload it at Plugins → Add New → Upload Plugin; the setup wizard opens on activation.
The look of this site
ledgable.cc is Twenty Twenty-Five plus two files. If you want your own ledger’s site to read like this one, drop them into wp-content/mu-plugins/ and write pages inside a <div class="lg">.
Licence
The apps and the plugin are GPL-3.0. Use them, read them, change them, pass them on. The lineage they stand on is credited in every copy and on the credits page.
