Correspondence is where replies to what you published gather: comments on your posts, replies in your community, and answers on Bluesky. It sits under Desk, beside Contacts.

What arrives

• Comments and replies on your posts and cards, from your connected site.
• Community replies, where the site runs a community.
• Bluesky replies to posts your site syndicated. Strangers answering in public age fastest, so they are listed first, marked awaiting your answer.
• Mentions from other sites are held for your approval before they appear anywhere public.

The almanac strip narrows the room to a period, the same as everywhere else. Either the site bridge or the Bluesky bridge alone is enough to have correspondence worth reading; with neither, the room says what to connect.

Answering

Answers to comments and community replies can be typed or handwritten; the ink is attached, not flattened into text.

Answering a Bluesky reply is its own small surface, because Bluesky wants text:

1. Write the answer by hand.
2. The app reads your handwriting back as text; correct it.
3. A counter shows the 300-character ceiling Bluesky enforces.
4. Send. The answer is written on your own site first, and the site posts it to Bluesky on its next pass. The app never holds a Bluesky password.

Where mail fits

Mail is not in this room. Email arrives in Incoming with your feeds, and a person’s letters live in their thread — see Every contact is a correspondence. Correspondence is the site’s conversations; the inbox is your mailbox.

Boards

If your site keeps an inbox board, correspondence can be synced onto it as cards, so a support question becomes something with a column and a due date. See Messages, boards and bookings.

Reading it on the day

Replies are dated. Zoom the almanac strip to a week and the room shows that week’s conversations; the day’s reading timeline shows Bluesky replies in their own section.

Not pictured

There are no screenshots of this room in the guides for a plain reason: on a working device it is full of other people’s letters.
