Publish to WordPress

A page you wrote becoming a post on your own site; the short version.

Connect a WordPress site once, then any page you wrote by hand can become a post on your own domain without retyping it. The full setup is in Connecting a site; this is the short version.

Before you start

  1. Install and activate the Ledgable plugin on your WordPress.
  2. In WordPress, under Ledgable → Access, mint a device token. It is shown once.
  3. In the app, Settings › Sites: add the address and the token. The app asks the site what it can do, so a wrong address or a revoked token fails now, not when you try to publish.

The app can hold several sites. You choose per post which one a piece goes to.

Publishing a page you wrote

From the page, open Send/Export and choose WordPress, or from the page menu Publish page as post…. The composer opens with the page transcribed into the body and the page image attached as the featured image.

The composer’s fields are WordPress’s own:

  • Site — which connected site.
  • Title — leave it empty and the note’s title is used.
  • Type — posts, or any other public content type the site exposes.
  • Status — Draft · Publish · Schedule · Private.
  • Categories · Tags — pulled live from the site; NEW… adds one.
  • Featured image.

Draft is the default

Worried about what becomes public? Keeping your ledger private walks the three settings.

The status starts on Draft on purpose. Compose in the field, check at a desk, publish then. Schedule is for when you have decided but do not want it to land yet.

Bluesky

A switch on the WordPress row tags the post so your site’s syndication job posts it to Bluesky on one of its next passes, with a link back. The app never talks to Bluesky itself; the site does. Replies come back into Correspondence.

Posts

Under The Net, Posts lists everything you have published, scheduled or drafted, across every site, each row labeled with its site and status. Filter by site, type, state, and the almanac strip. Tap a post to edit it in the same composer.

Whose site

Your own WordPress, or one somebody runs for you, or several. It is the same plugin everywhere and nothing is withheld by host. What the app may do is set by the account behind the token: a reader’s token reads and cannot publish, which is the site’s rules working rather than a bug.

More

Installing the plugin, importing an archive, keeping things private, and what the site does with a page are all in Connecting a site.
